Mid-City Supply is a plumbing and HVAC distributor with nine locations across Indiana and Michigan. In addition to serving contractors and builders, Mid-City operates several showrooms where builders, homeowners, and remodelers can design and plan their projects.

Beth Price, Office Manager at Mid-City’s corporate headquarters in Elkhart, handles a little bit of everything and knows how important first impressions are for customers who may be making major investments in their homes.

“For us, it’s all about keeping things clean, safe, and looking great,” Beth explains.

“When a homeowner walks into one of our showrooms, they’re often making big decisions and big purchases. They want to see that we have it all together. That means clean facilities, fresh smells, and a professional atmosphere. At the contractor entrances, safety and efficiency are just as important. They want to get in, get what they need, and get back to the jobsite.”

Beth highlights the service of their Route Service Representative (RSR), Luis: “He checks in verbally every time he’s here. If I call with a question, he returns it right away. He even noticed that our bottle filler area always had a puddle and suggested placing a mat there.

Something so simple made a huge difference, and one of our customers even commented on it right away. It showed me he was thinking ahead, seeing what we needed before we realized it.”

The personal touches have left an impression. Beth shares one story in particular:

“Our management asked me to add more air fresheners in the building. Luis promised he’d install them by next week. The very next morning, on his day off, I saw him here putting them in. I asked what he was doing, and he said, ‘It is my day off, but I wanted to make sure you were taken care of.’

Right then, I knew I was treated like the number one customer. If he treats everyone like that, he’s going places.”

Integrity and Service that Stand Out

Beth emphasizes that Wildman’s commitment to integrity makes all the difference:

“Anybody can throw down a mat. It’s how they do it and the way they present themselves. Wildman’s people are polite, professional, and customer-focused. They’re not trying to upsell me on products I don’t need; they just do what’s right. That matters.”

She’s also noticed a cultural shift across their branches: “The drivers are friendly and responsible. They greet our managers by name, ask what they can do to help, and bring camaraderie into the workplace. It shows pride in their work.”
